A great message, reminding us how being different should be embraced!
When you’re a kid growing up, the pressure to fit in (and not stand out) is
enormous. But If you were like me as a young teenager, I often thought it was better to stay under the
radar to avoid being the target of any bully. It didn’t always work but it meant I could
survive the school environment and be LIKED. An unfortunate quandary, especially
considering no one is the same and this fact makes each of us unique.
It’s not until we’re much older that we realise having our own identity and learning
how to ‘like oneself’ is not only crucial to self-preservation but key to being happy.
Being different is good.
