Telstra’s Cyber Security Report released

Help your organisation make vital cyber security decisions.

This week Telstra, Diamond Sponsors of the upcoming AIIA Navigating Privacy & Security Summit, have released their annual Cyber Security Report for 2016. The report shares insights into the cyber security risk identified by business in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. It also aims to improve awareness about the nature of the cyber threat and help organisations make vital cyber security decisions that minimise the risk they face.

Findings from the report include:

  • Increased awareness of security as an important issue, with 23.7 per cent of Australian organisations surveyed detecting a business-interrupting security breach in an average month compared to just 10 per cent in 2014.
  • Malware inflections via ransomware and phishing attacks are on the rise, with the frequency of business-interrupting security events within Australia doubling compared to the previous year.
  • Organisations that attribute responsibility to C-level or business line managers and conduct more frequent cyber security briefings are better positioned to handle security incidents.

Download the report here.

Telstra’s Chief Information Security Officer, Mike Burgess, will join the AIIA’s Rob Fitzpatrick onstage at the upcoming Navigating Privacy & Security Summit in Canberra, Tuesday 8 March to explore privacy and security from a customer-experience perspective. Tickets are strictly limited so please register today to avoid disappointment.
